There's a recent thread on different setups for different price levels. Good info there. But, just as IHangnBankhead was implying, figure out where you want to end up, and start out there. He's a serious woodsman who has found out that after modifying the suspension, entry slit, and bugnet, and adding a sewn-in pocket to his HH, he may have been better off to start with a BB that comes with a better suspension, a zippered bug net, no need for an entry slit, a built in storage pocket, plus a double bottom and the satisfaction of buying not only American made, but American-HF-member-and-supporter made. But like RR said, each to his own. Heck, some folks still like to sleep in tents.
