    10 beginner mistakes

So, everyone was a beginner once.

What were some mistakes you made, as part of your learning curve?

Then we can compile the 10 crucial things to know for newbies.

Don't panic if you can't think of ten.

    ----

*) Cranking the hammock too tight. You need a bit of sag to be comfy.

*) not sleeping with any under insulation. Brr! who knew that the air around you would mosey off with your heat?

Make sure your suspension is set up properly. The ground can be hard.

Use those slippery half hitches for back up!
Revolution is about the need to re-evolve political, economic and social justice and power back into the hands of the people, preferably through legislation and policies that make human sense. That's what revolution is about. Revolution is not about shootouts.

Don't use a 50 year old WWII surplus hammock until you replace the ropes.

Make sure the foot end is slightly higher than the head end.

Practice setting up your hammock before going out camping.

If you're setting up in the dark at lower elevations, look down with the headlamp at least once before you set up.

My first hang was over some brush in a river bottom. Some of the brush was poison oak.

Don't setup your hammock in the front yard (because there's no trees in the back) at 6am in the morning ... it makes the neighbors talk about a homeless person on the block.

From where I come from that's a pretty high class form of homelessness.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
