I haven't made any whoopies in a few months. I forgot how fun it is. I only did one stupid thing - I forgot a Whoopie hook on one of the adjustable loops. No problem - I just started over 'cause I hadn't put the backsplice in yet.

These are the only two whoopies I'm going to make. Last time I bought 200 ft. of Amsteel and went through it all in short order making whoopies, soft shackles, and continuous loops. I'm older and wiser now.

Screw it - I'm gonna go make another set!

You need to start hanging out near your home, at the marinas.

Go to where the serious sailboats and serious cordage is. No matter how much money those boats cost, the rigging is expensive enough there is lots of splicing to do, because that hi-tech line is expensive and wears non-uniformly.

No need for the wife to fear you'll run away to sea. The sailboat owners all work on Wall Street; and there's too much marlin-spike seamanship needed in shops for most to take you away from land work.

Ok, so I've ordered some 1/8" Amsteel and can't wait to splice me some whoopie slings!!

But I've read almost every page of this forum with no luck of finding an answer to my slight confusion:

In Slowbro's instructions the constriction slides up and down the rope that runs directly to the hammock; but in Grizz's video the constriction stays put near the hammock and the tail slides through it.

Is there a better option out of these two versions?

    Thanks in advance!

As per Grizz is my experience.
