carol, you should have recieved the line/strap suspension, it should have come with (2) 6' tree straps. if not, let me know and i'll send them your way.

the other option was the adj web. susp. which is a 14' long piece of webbing on each end. this is easier to use on large trees, but is about 4oz heavier, although more convenient.

I have used tree straps on a speer type hammock I made myself. They worked well on small to regular sized trees. But big trees were a problem.

And I've read of the concerns about ropes and tree damage. But, I personally have never noticed any damage to the trees I've hung on. Is this something that is not visible to the naked eye? Or a cumulative thing? Maybe specific to a certain kind of tree.

I was looking on Warbonnet's website and it looks like he has a line/strap hybrid option. Have any of you tried this?
Thanks for putting up your blog... interesting reading and especially your reviews...

Getting some Warbonnet tree straps that didn't make it to me the first time. Thanks Brandon. Will give them a whirl.
Thanks to Jeff and Big D for the thorough explanation.
Just read the Whoopie Sling thread, well most of it anyway. Interesting.

Recieved the tree straps from WB and used them last week on a three dayer. Worked great and extended the distance I can go between trees. Thanks Brandon. Used the Yeti too. Very nice.
