My Warbonnet Ridgerunner needed a warm jacket for hanging this fall in Minnesota. For the record, the Wilderness Logics Summer Series full underquilt fits on the ridgerunner quite well and I'm comfortable taking that down to about 45 degrees or so. Below that, I'm going to need something a bit more burly. So of course, I went a LOT more burly.
I though I'd try to emulate the full winter Lynx underquilt but never could get a hold of one to get some measurements. So I grabbed a measuring tape and went to work.
The result:
24 ounces (25 ounces with biners)
2 full ounces of down in each of 7 chambers = 14 ounces of down. This thing lofts up like an inflated air mattress.
Using manufacturer's guidelines for ratings, this should be comfortable well below any temp I'd endeavor to take it. This was a very challenging project. 4-way cat-cut inner shell and insulation that flared from 28" (foot) to 32" at the shoulder...then back to 28 at the head. Lots of curves, gathers, and darts. I'm very happy with my results but I'm in awe of someone who can do this with the beautiful finish work like the Warbonnet products. The $265 they ask for the winter Lynx is a bargain.

Should be able to test it in about 4 months.
