sounds great. now, how do we get the beer out in the middle of nowhere(and keep it cold)?

I didn't check this thread out when it first came up. Wow, great photos of a beautiful place. It's super that your son is into this, so young. There's nothing like building up a relationship with your son this way!

First time camping with your kids is the same as Christmas after having kids. Brings out a whole new experience and puts a spark in it. The one on one with no distractions is super-dupper quality time . I love Idaho and your pictures were really cool. Thanks for sharing.
Great Pics!
Thank you for posting!

I can't critique your pictures as I'm no expert photographer but I can say you focused your shots very well, and they are all good even though you weren't shooting with optimal lighting. I still think you did great. I need a new camera as my camelbak leaked on mine a couple weeks ago. So that trip to Sand Harbor Overlook in Lake Tahoe only exists in my memory, but it's an absolutely fantastic hike.
Those who expect disappointment are never disappointed.
my wife was just up in stanley yesterday at redfish, i'm going up there in a week or so to meet up with her and my inlaws at city of rocks for a few days. kinda wish i was going up to the sawtooth, but city of rocks is pretty amazing too.
OOO, I love the City of Rocks, I used to be big into climbing and it is a paradise for that, but the longest I ever had to spend there was a photo trip with a few other photographers. I blew through 15-20 rolls in like 3 days in early May. Had a great time and got a lot of cool shots. Have fun WBG!
Hey P- that's a great trip report!
And I love the photos- what kind of camera did you use? I need to upgrade my capability in the picture-taking department, and am looking for something rugged enough to use on trips.

ghandrick, read through post #4, I mention the camera I took on this hike a Pentax E70 and my thoughs on it and a more rugged option for the $'s the Pentax W series. Glad you liked the pics, it was a lot of fun. I realy am hoping to do another trip in a week or so and will put up a report on it if I get to go.
