Re: Video : A Brief Primer on Hammock Suspension, Part III : Constriction

I'm getting forgetful. What % of the hammock length should the Srl be?
I can't remember what it is or where to find it.

I've been using a small safety pin through my UCR in the basement all winter. No slips, no deformation. 1/2 gram.

Thanks for the video Grizzly Adams. I just switched to whoopie slings and the video help take the mystery out of using them.

Thank you so much for this! All your videos were done at a pace where I, a confused beginner, could understand. You explained things the experienced might take for granted. Well done!

While I enjoy Grizzly Adams' videos immensely, too, if you are a newbie to Hammock Camping, also check out videos by forum member Shug. They are very useful and EXTREMELY entertaining.

Here's a link to his YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/shugemery

Also, I highly recommend Derek Hansen's blog and book at:

Thanks for the warm welcome and the suggestions sjarvis!

I've been lurking for about a week now, and left wondering why I didn't clue into hanging before! Anyway, Shug has already been discovered, but I've only watched the 10 "Essential" videos so far.

I'll definitely check out Derek's blog too.

    Thanks again!
