What you drew might work, but a prefer more control over how much itcan slide back and forth on the shockcord. Also agree that the ends might benefit from cinching
I like the idea of just making triangles of amsteel. The way people have traditionally been making them, the weight is all carried by the grosgrain anyway. But then its only supporting a couple pounds of quilt...
