Yes the cup is a little harder to use. My wife found some silicone measuring cups today and thought it would be great for measuring stuff while camping. I thought the one cup one would make an excellent camp cup. I will try to upload a photo in the next day or two.
Good stuff Bluefin! Got to do a little snowshoeing for work yesteday, really tough slog, with the shoes on, still up to my waist and breaking trail. Was funny, saw a big moose, right up to his belly in the snow, and when I went to leave, a coyote was hauling down the road in front of my truck, but wouldn't get up over the snowbank as the snow was too deep for him...had to wait for him to go on up ahead, find himself a spot about 1/2 mile down the road and make himself an undignified exit.
WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Yes indeed they are Carey Beavertail Snowshoes made right here in Newfoundland. The man who makes them was featured on CBC "land and Sea" television program.
They are very well made and easy to use, light weight and provide excellent floatation in the snow. I have had these for several years now and love them The binding is a cut out rubber tire tube. They just slip on over any type of boot you are wearing. I highly recommend them.
I am very surprised that you recognized them.
