All great choices and of course gear is a personal opinion, but with all that said there is a OES Standard in the for sale threads right now for like $75. If you don't like that one, I have had all the other tarps you mentioned and the only one I kept was the Tadpole. I even take the Tadpole out more than my cuben.

I do see that you already have a tarp and I couldn't say a bad thing about the Jarbidge. I'd say, if it were me I'd buy the UQ and upgrade the tarp later.

Big fan of the WL Tadpole (packs tiny), and the WB Superfly (same a MJ with doors) because of how the ridgeline is put together and huge coverage.

    Choices....

First I would want to know what you upgrading from so I can see what you have that I could want then I would be able to make a informed decision as how to spend your money to best help me and you also, if you know what I mean
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

So many I do also want to put out there I have also considered getting another hammock which is specialized for sleeping? I have been considering the Lite owl, WBRR any others that are within my price range of at most $110-$120 suggest it. Oh here is what I have an ENO SN (with whoopies), ENO fast fly, cheap mummy for insulation.

My .02 would be to get the tarp you want first and then save for your underquilt. Pads will keep you warm but getting wet or not being able to block the wind sucks!

All are great tarps but if you can afford it the Hammockgear Winter palace Cubin tarp is awesome and weighs in a 8oz (12ft ridge line version) especially if you are looking to cut down on backpacking weight

I own and use tarps from Warbonnet and Wilderness Logics and they are excellent tarps. I hope to pick up a OES tarp one day

I wish I had the money for a cuben tarp. I have thought of a DIY Mylar as a cheeper alternative. I think it would be great to look at the stars.

Sometimes I get confused by this statement when talking about Cuben tarps. If the starts are out....in other words if the clouds are not out....then my tarp is not up. I don't use Cuben tarps but lay awake looking at the starts all the time. I only pitch my tarp for 3 reason. It's raining or looks like it will any moment, is windy as all get out or I need shade during the day for a nap. Other wise my tarp usually stays packed.
