You have the option of using the RR as in your first photo without the 4" extension. Just run the spreader bar through the short loop with the cordlock in the center of the head end to prevent the sag.
Thanks gmcttr. I was going to ask what that was for. I do have one more question. I noticed while my wife and son were laying in it that the head end spreader bar was bowed a little. Is this normal? They weigh below 200lbs combined. I am wondering because I weigh 215 and am kinda scared of what it does when I'm in it.
The pole bowing like that does look a little concerning as I weigh around 200lbs too.
I don't use the extension myself (only 175 lbs) but when i lightly flex the header WITHOUT the extension, there is very little play because there is only 1 connection point. WITH the extension, of course there is a more play because of 2 connection points.
If you're concerned, you can go to quest outfitters, order 2 26 inch poles, then cut them down, using a pipe cutter, so you can have the same length (39.5) header, but with only one connection. Probably much less play.
Or maybe even order the thicker .742 poles, I think the ones supplies are .625.
I have 2 RRs, one with net the other without. I love them both and will reorder them in a second if they ever wear out. I will never sell them, and recommend them to anyone with out question.

With ~190 lbs in my RR, I've never noticed the spreader bar bowing. I would not be comfortable at all if I saw that amount of bowing.
I suggest you send Brandon that photo and see what he thinks about it.
FWIW...I use the 4" extension. Please let us know what you hear from Brandon. Thanks
I'm #220, and I just don't look at the bars... haven't failed me yet. . .
