Pet supply stores have fans for pet crates, they run on AA bateries. I buy the batteries from IKEA, they are cheap and run a long time. I think the fans are around $9.99 USD. PetCo has sales, where you could pick up one or two pretty cheap.

I find my Hennessy Hammock just too much with the bug net. I am considering cutting it off. However, here in Oregon we have very little bug problems.

    Re: bug net too hot...

There are a few threads on hammocks and hanging fans... The lightest weight options are the Off brand bug dispensers your supposed to wear on your hip... A little ingenuity and they run without the chemical refills...

Others just use any cheap fan Wal-Mart has... Lots of different fan options...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

    NO, MIKE!!!!

    Don't say things like that.

Noah, don't listen to Mike , he treks thousands of miles, but don't listen to him . There is never an off season to hiking here in Florida

There is just a... short, day hike, lollygaging near the streams hike and hang, period of time during spring/summer. Just remember, hydrate, take someone with you, DON'T hike for distance, just enough to keep in shape for the real hiking season here in Florida, like Mike said.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I've made some bug nets out of the WMT polyester mesh curtain material. The one I use the most is a light tan shade. Made one for my grand daughter that was white. Stays a lot cooler in the sun with less heat build up.
