    Thank you, rcam1977.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

    How about the peninsula?

I'm trying to get caught up on the Halloween hang, maybe I'm missing something so I apologize in advance if I did, but why not head for the Peninsula? Plenty of water, plenty of camp sites. Was just there last weekend, no water in sight except for the lake.

I avoid the Peninsula in warmer months. I don't think it will be very busy the weekend we are talking about. Last time I went to the peninsula, I kept heading south on the west side of it looking for an open campsite. After passing Patton Cave, I made do with just some level ground I found. It could still be pretty busy, but I doubt it. It's a crap shoot.
The worst backpacking trip I ever went on was still pretty good.

the nice thing about the spot weve already got picked out is that not very many people know about it, and its off trail a little ways, i doubt water will be an issue but i could be wrong, i imagine there will be a few of us go out and do a pre halloween hang as it gets closer to the date just to check the conditions of the site

Yes, welcome to the forum and to the Halloween Hang. I think it will be in the Deam at a place we call Crescent Valley 2. Directions will be coming soon but the parking will be at the tower on Tower Road South of Bloomington off 46.

But it will rain,,that stream is mostly only about 1/2 foot deep in most spots and about 6-8' wide when running,,it does have a few deep spots but still wadable/crossable anywhere if you want to get wet from the knees down when full to its max. We should get rain to have it running a bit by the time of the hang.
Contacted the HNF and asked about a rickshaw for a partially disabled type person with a slip from a doctor .

No Go so far . The no wheel rule is set by congress for wilderness areas .

Riverjoe. There is a ten person limit to hiking party's in the Deam. contacting them may be a complication if you mentioned the number coming or that the camp will be in the Deamm. Please let us know more about the enquiry. But don't worry, there are other places.

Bloomington received 2" of rain in a storm cell that developed yesterday evening..and so did the Chas Deam Wildernes area!!! I was on the edge of the cell in southwest Indiana,,and just got a few drops if any. We are supposed to get more rain as cold front moves thru. Just thought someone might like to know if they think they are going to hit it this weekend as cold front moves in giving us cooler temps also.
