I finally got to spend the night in my new HH Expedition Classic and I must say I am pretty impressed. I set up in my basement attached to two metal support beams (they are set into the concrete and welded/banded on the top) which are about 15 feet apart. I have no cold weather gear yet so setting up in below freezing temps for my first night in it did not seem like such a great idea.

A couple of things I already know is that if I am going to stick with the suspension that come it, I need to practice knots. Not a bad thing but I pretty much suck at tying them. I did it well enough that there was no slipping and it held all night but boy are they messy.

Anyone using a 12' Kelty with an HH? The tarp I got (standard HH tarp) does cover but there is not a bunch of room left over. I am thinking of typing off my Kelty just to have more room.

I also think I like my Atlas straps better than the stock HH straps. I believe I would need to make some changes in how I hook up the hammock to the straps. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Bottom entry. I love it. I have mobility issues and have limited core strenghth which is why the ENO Double was hard for me to get out of short of flipping over on the ground. I can pop in and out of the HH Classic without any issues at all. Thanks to everyone who suggested it.

You don't really need knots to connect the suspension. Go to the hennessey website and watch the video showing the figure 8 lashing. I like my classic bottom entry Expedition too. Quick to get in and out of without having to mess with zippers. I'm most likely going to change my suspension over to Whoopies, but it's just one thing on a list of things I want/need.

So what type of UQ are you guys using with the classic entry? I am in process of trying to make a PLUQ but know I will need something a bit better for colder temps.

Neither are mine. If I haven't used the Hennessey for a bit, I have a tendency to forget how to do it.

I see from your profile that you have a Noah 12. Have you ever used it over the Hennessey? If so which way did you hang it?

Conrgats on getting your gear - how long did it take for you to get it? I placed my order 18 days ago and still nothing... The Canadian Post website says its been handed over to a foreign country for further processing... Starting to wonder if someone in the USPS got smart on all these packages from canada and decided to keep mine :-(
