Geez, me too. I've been looking on my local Craigslist.org under for sale -> boats for a while now. Try this link. Some good deals have come and gone by that I couldn't pull the trigger on at the time/price.

Well I was watching junkyard wars earlier and they had to get a canoe to try and make a hydrofoil with. Check your local junkyard

Good luck, few folks want to part with them.

You might try searching around your area for canoe rental places that sell off their inventory when it gets too old, but I doubt any will be selling off anything now. Plus, I'm not sure how cheap they let their stuff go for; when I last looked into it, before I got my current boat, an outfitter near me wanted about $500 for a beat-to-crap Old Town. That's probably not such a bad deal, now that I think about it, but it was outta my price range at the time.

I found my crappy aluminum POS at a garage sale while I was passing through some town on the Delaware River. So keep your eyes open, especially when travelling through watersports country, I guess. If you want to come to Pittsburgh to buy my POS, you can PM me. I don't plan on selling it, but for the right price...

Good luck. If you find a good deal somewhere, I'd like to hear about it.

Darn shame you aren't in Colorado. This thread got me curious so I did a quick search on the local craigslist. Very first listing was this: "$500 Coleman 3-Man Fiberglass Canoe, great condition. 15' long canoe, paddles and Minnkota 4-Speed trolling motor included."

That was just the first one, there are tons!

Perhaps defining your idea of "cheap" would be in order.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    How about:
"17' coleman canoe in great shape $300.00 obo"

The place is thick with deals like this.
