Okay first.... the name makes me think of a Noob,
although they pronounce it Noob Bay, so its a Bay for Noobs, LoL.

This does not look like a very summertime friendly setup.
I can not see how you could get adequate wind flow, as the hammock
is nestled far up into this dome. Second, your gear is suspended by
No-SeeUm? How much weight do you want your netting holding?

This looks like a really techy and geeky setup, but I am not sure
that I would want something this intricate. Neat idea though.

ETA: I do see that the gear sling has its own suspension, and the
bug net just goes around that. Also, its a neat idea to be able to just
roll everything up. I like that alot. I might add some clips to my setup
just for this purpose.

If I was designing this, I would also allow the gearsling to be pulled tight
against the bottom of the hammock as an extra protection layer, and also
so that you can insulate below your hammock easily.

How are they patenting a draw string over suspension lines?

Well the tarp setup seems like those lines are quite a ways up. They started the video with those up already.

What I see is this....

1) a Tarp with mosquito netting sewn on
2) hammock is the basic one
3) pouch to hold gear has its own attachments

Mosquito netting wraps around everything.

So really its a tarp with mosquito netting.

The pouch at the bottom looks like something anyone can make. Its just a small piece of material that attaches to the tree with its own ropes. Anyone could make this item to go under there hammock.

They have no weight on how much the hammock itself holds. For bigger guys.

The way hammock systems are now where the tarp and every thing is separate seems just makes perfect sense because your lines get tangled your not spending as much time trying to untangle.

The gear box idea under the hammock is a nice idea. I might make one for my own setup. I can unzip the hammock and lean over its not that big of deal. maybe even some cuben fiber.

But I prefer my system being in pieces so when something breaks the whole rig is not broke. Plus I can switch out tarps and build my system and not be stuck with just theres.

I would not buy it how it is now. I just see to many things that can go wrong.

Nifty idea, I don't think I would be lugging it around backpacking at a little over 2 pounds. I have never had a problem with rain and my hammock or gear getting wet, even in down pours. Anyway would be cool for some one to use car camping or for a base camp set up.

I agree, I have never had much of a problem with rain and wind, but I don't thing the weight is too bad. If you have a Superfly and a Warbonnet bug net, it weighs 26.5 oz without lines. The Nube looks like it weighs 32 oz, and that includes the gear hammock.

I don't think I will rush right out and buy one, but I like that new gear makers are trying innovative designs.

I could be wrong, but I think the Nube itself is just the shelter (tarp/net/gear loft). You add your own hammock. They make a hammock, but I don't think it's included in this setup, which makes it even more expensive.

I think the tarp design with the bubble the hammock sits in is neat, but I already hang my tarps kind of high so I don't have to duck down as much. This looks like it would make me duck down even more than a traditional setup.

It's a neat concept that my gear is in the bug net with me, so I don't have to unzip to reach for my backpack. But the truth of the matter is, it's not that big of a deal for me to throw the 3-4 items in the hammock with me when I'm getting in.

Also, I'm not quite understanding how the suspension running through a hole that you cinch down is preventing water from running down the suspension.

Overall, it's an interesting concept, but at $300+ (after kickstarter discounts are gone) for a tarp/bugnet, it seems far too pricey to me.

The Kickstarter $225 package has an upgrade for an additional $100 to add a Pares hammock.

Once the Kickstart is over, the list price for the nube, not including the Pares is $300.

Either that, or the Kickstart and website are confusing as all get out

I like the bubble tarp, not having to duck down when I'm standing under the tarp would be nice. But thats about the end if it.
I can see the bug netting being difficult to close. How many times have you had trouble closing a zipper with one hand, because I know I have. This zipper looks like you have to close it with your arm fully extended plus whatever wobble your hammock is doing while your sitting awkwardly reaching for it.
I like the gear sling being in the netting but I think it would be a big pain to get it all rigged up.

The funny thing is whoever designed this thing just had a tarp that was too small for his hammock if the ends of his rig were getting wet in the rain. 11 foot hammock = 12 foot tarp, Problem solved.
