    Need JRB Sleeves Advice

I got my JRB sleeves in the mail today and was so excited to try them on. They are GREAT, quality gear. My question to others who wear them was about whether or not what I am experiencing is "normal" or maybe I'm wearing them wrong, or they just don't plain fit. When I hang my arms down to the side or cross them, no real problem (my back shoulder is exposed a bit). Anytime I lift my arm though, forget it.

Do you all have the same problem that I am below?

Hmmm...what size did you get TT ..... looks like there alittle on the small size for your arms....
from what i can remember mine covered my arm up alittle further ...
but it's not that bad.... wait till you get a down vest to try them with
with a shell over your vest and sleeves the gap might not be a big deal..
but try them with a down vest first
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Thanks GLP. I got the extra large. They had one pair left in stock.

I really want to like these, but I fear my shoulders may be a bit too wide.

I was going to say that the vest your wearing seems to be Mmmm radically cut. With a down vest the armhole will stick out more giving you more coverage but it also looks like the sleeve is a bit short. You'll see once you try it with the proper vest. Mine have been doing well. Good luck

Yeah it is to an extent. My problem is that I have always had very wide shoulders (54-56" jacket) so finding quality gear has always been hard. I think that the pics might not be the truest representation of the cut of the vest though since I did exxagerate it a bit to try to show it in the photo. I wasn't sure what the quality would be like from my iPhone.

But either way, yes, it does appear to not entirely cover the back of my shoulders. Even when I am just standing with arms at my sides, my shoulders are slightly exposed.

They look too small for ya! Sorry. That's not what you wanted to hear. I'll buy them from you if you want to unload them. I'm serious.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

I know I don't have that large of a gap with my sleeves when I stretch. So that leads me to believe that they may be to small. If they are to small and you cant get a custom pair made by the Jacks I would contact Ben over at

    http://goosefeet.webs.com/

Ben is making me a custom pair of pant and he may be able to help you out as well, But I'd try the Jacks first as we all know their great guys and hopefully they can do a XXL pair for ya.

I'm with mbiraman - it looks like your vest is either too small or is cut with real large arm holes. I'd say look into a fuller cut vest.

    Triptease,

Looking at those pictures both the XL sleeves, and vest are too small for you... Sizing is especially important for down products to ensure they function at normal loft.

Jacks R Better has a 100% satisfaction guareantee... Please send the sleeves back for a full refund.

FWIW, some minor opening under the arm pits (pit venting) is normal and even some back opening at full rotation of the arms to a forward position is normal... But your photos show fit problems beyond the normal range.
