New to Forum, Hello, new to hanging

    Just bought my first hammock.

    Wilderness Logic - Lite Owl.
Wilderness Logic - Tad Pole Tarp with triangles and 144" extra length.

Just wanted to day hello and I look forward to learning some cool stuff and talking with alot of you all.

Oh, I did order some Amsteel 12" Dog bones and Dutch-Biners. I am an avid camper/hiker and wanted to get out of the weight of a tent and off the ground.

I was thinking of the best suspension setup. I was planning on running the 12" Dog bones from the ends of the hammock, then the Dutch-Biners as drip rings, and then my Whoopie Slings, then tree huggers. Any thoughts on this setup?

    Thanks,

    SC Mike

Welcome from five minutes away in Irmo, SC. The link to Palmetto State Hangers on Facebook is in my signature.

If you can't make the Goat Island Hang (as I won't be, unfortunately), there's another one in September at Santee (see Fall Sprawl).

Your dog-bones idea is VERY similar to the setup that I have and use on all of my hammocks. If you've the time, you're welcome to swing by sometime and see how well it works out.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Welcome from NC. Where did you order the dog nones and Dutch clips from? That is the rigging I am going to use for my new Nite Owl hammock.

I really appreciate the help, I'm still waiting on the dog bones and Dutch biners to come in. I've got the whoopie slings on the hammock now and regular tree straps.

I work in Newberry/Peak area but live by the airport, maybe one day soon we can meet up and you can give me some pointers. Thanks again
