    Auto logout feature timing

What is the auto logout feature timing? And, Can this be changed?

I have run into the issue where I seem to be auto logged out after 5 or 10 min of "inactivity". I have lost many longer posts do to being timed out prior to uploading the post. After signing back in the post was lost.

Is there a way to adjust this feature?

It happens to me frequently as well. Definitely not enough time allowed IMO.

To prevent my posts from being lost I always copy (ctrl + c) them before I hit the Post Quick Reply button.

Log out, and when you log back in, check the box next to Log In. That will keep you logged in permanently

That doesn't work. I always have that box checked and the site still kicks me off.

I haven't had the problem until the last week or so. What browser do you use / is it updated?

(also, hello from a few miles up 77NB!)

    this is a test...

Are you aware of the "Restore Auto-Saved Content" button? It doesn't catch everything, but I've had several posts that would have been similarly lost without it. I've only seen it appear when restarting a "Reply with Quote" on a message which I had started a reply earlier but failed to send. Should show up on the bottom left corner if the system saved anything from a previous session. For example, I wrote the "this is a test..." portion above a while ago and then closed the page. Hit "Restore Auto-Saved Content" and it was back (and ALSO appears to replace anything new you've added, so do that first).

I don't know exactly what conditions trigger the auto-save, but it's worked often enough that I'm quite thankful it's there. FWIW I usually post from the full website pages, so I've no idea whether this works through Tapatalk.

I'm using the latest version of Chrome but it happened with Safari & Firefox when I used them as well.

I check the box, then hit "yes" when it asks me if I want to save my password. I don't remember the last time I had to enter my password...it's been years. If I accidentally clear my history too far back, it can cause that, depending on what you're clearing (history, forms, saved passwords, etc.)

I use Chrome, have "checked the box" at login and am never timed out.

I'm guessing your problem comes from deleting the cookie used by the site to keep you logged in. If you are "cleaning" your computer frequently, use CCleaner or something similar that allows you to tell it what cookies NOT to delete.
