Notice the string on the far end of blk tarp its to determine the depth and dimensions of the vestibule.
I can give you those measurement if you think it will help.
I hope I am not coming off like some kind of gods gift to tarps? Cause I'm not.
Just tossing out what I have been doing in the back yard and hoping it will help.
I know you've done a fair amount of testing, and no one else has made their brain available for picking so...

How far past the end of your tarp does your hot beak extent? A foot?

down at the ground ~24" to 30" up at the RL ~6" Your tarp pitch will change the depth.

Based on your material width how much overlap can you do on a set of doors?

Makes sense. Do you find the need for anything other than overlap for door closure, i.e. velcro?

For my vestibules I sewed the doors closed for safety around the stove in wind.
On my grizzbeak in vestibule mode I just tie at the bottom and stake out. Straight on wind is blocked by the tree.
Side wind pushes one side against the other keeping it closed.

    Does that make sense?
Well would you look at that ! great work there OutandBack although I do feel slightly ashamed of my 'wing it' approach . I may have to give the sewn shut grizz beaks a whirl.

    Tarp door styles?

I've been quietly following this thread, as I'm sure many others have also. I just want to thank OutandBack for sharing all of his hard work of experimenting with tarp configurations.
