Cool deal. I'll be there by 1 and be driving an '87 gray full size Blazer. Since I'm a new guy that might be easier to spot me than say average height and build lol

I'm trying to decide between my 88 gray Camry or my 3/4 ton gas hog black Suburban since it is just me driving up from Knoxville. If it looks like the road to Carvers Gap has snow, I'll probably have to bring the the gas hog.
Just looked at intellicast, and the forecasted low just dropped two more degrees. The hike to Overmountain might not get much over 23 F if I had to guess.
Now I need to start thinking about what to bring. It was looking like a nice lightweight trip until the bottom fell out of the thermometer.
I just talked to the caretaker at Ripshin, he promised snow by the morning, as in 2/8...so at leat it will be white on the Roan.
Bring the Camry, I haven't see it since the Citico, or did you have it at Forney Creek?
My current sleep kit =

Leighlo 5-50
Snugfit
Neutron-5 double/footbox
me

Montbell Alpine Light parka

I've already prepared for the fact I'm going to freeze. I have a feeling my setup is gonna be inadequate but it'll definitely be a learning experience

Damjamman-are you in a tent? I think more is needed on the bottom.
