    Hg cft ss?

Wondering if the HG cuben fiber tarp comes with a stuff sack? I'd guess yes, so then I'm also curious if it comes regular or bishop style? I tried emailing HG but I'm guessing they are busy trying to fill orders from BF still.

Standard stuff sack made of cuben fiber for my 4 season. I fold the tarp and then wrap the guy lines around the folded tarp to complete the package and minimize tangles.

You are better off with snake skins with A Cuban tarp.

They do not take stuffing well at all according to Adam and getting a crease in them from folding is not a good idea either.

    Take a look at this

I saw that video a while back. Not opposed to skins but am not exactly in love with them either. My daughter has a set on her Hennessy and she loves it. Now packing that thing up is simply ridiculous (once in the skins I mean), I could never take her set up hiking with me. It's like a rigid snake that doesn't compress at all. I realize this is only the tarp and she has her entire hammock in the snake skin but when I think about it, it seems it would be easier and smaller to pack away a stuff sack vs a snake skin, no?

You are correct that the tarp in the skin is like a rigid snake, but IMHO is still easier to handle than a folded tarp in a stuff sack. I just fold the long tube back and forth every 16" or spans carry in the large rear mesh pocket of the pack. Is a breeze to pull out and string up.

I made a tulle skin for my cf tarp.
Started with a 4 inch wide strip 2 foot longer than the tarp ridgeline. sewed it up and the tap is not a rigid stick.
It will still get about small softball size and can still be put in the stuff sack if you want to. I usually just stuff the skin into an outside pocket on my pack.

Being one piece makes it even easier to use

I have had no issues with folding my tarp. I see no permanent creases and don't suspect I will have any issues. The folding technique I use was passed along to me by Adam himself. You just detach one end of the tarp, while the tarp is hanging vertically and fold in halves horizontally until you achieve the desired width. Then you fold down vertically and carefully wrap the dangling guy lines. I think tarp skins big advantage comes in play by having your tarp stored and out of your way, yet at the ready to be quickly deployed. I hope the folding instructions make sense.

had my cf out in snow/ice this past weekend -- packing up in the skins was a nightmare. (note: history has shown me that sil sheds ice better than cf - at least that was my experience. i ended up forgoing the skins, and loosely folding- then cramming into bishop sack.

the verdict is still out about skins, but i'm pretty sure hg uses a standard sack.

Oi! Already added the CF skins to my order, I'll try them out and see at this point.

Jenny confirmed they use a regular CF stuff sack btw.
