    Thanks for that, it is all sounding a bit too hard

    I was also thinking it might be hard to sew a neat channel at the ends with a large curve in it anyway. I might have to make a small test version first.

    I have made convex cat cuts on the ends and it worked out great.
    It's like progressively pulling the edges before whipping, but much
    more even than I could do by hand on a square cut piece of cloth.
    That hammock is the most comfortable one I've made.

    I made a channel on the sides of my last bridge hammock, not too bad. Use pins!

    The sides of your bridge are curved too aren't they?

    How far down the sides did you come? I am thinking of about 2" down on each end.

    is this what you are meaning, so that when you whip it with the fabric at the ends level, then it gives you a "belly"?

    seems logical to me.
