If I'm too warm I'll flip-flop till everything is situated for the right comfort zone, but if everything is adjusted for the right temp range, then I'm out for the count.

Yes, I sleep in a hammock. Please pass the Grey Poupon.
I sympathize with you. I roll a lot either in a hammock or on a mattress as I stated here....

The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?

Before becoming a hammock full-timer, I would sit in the la-z-boy and roll back and forth all night. In the hammock, I might change positions from back, to fetal once I guess. Still use the "captain morgan" pose on occasion, but not so much as in the beginning. I'm mostly a back sleeper just slightly facing one side. (the position you can't get in a bed without rolling one way or the other.)

Have you tried either tieing your ropes tighter or looser to change the degree your hammock hangs??
I'm a "sleep through the night" person. But that's after I've flipped and flopped around a bit and got everything just where I want it. Just when I'm starting to think... "gee I've flipped and flopped around quite a bit & I'm still not asleep"... I fall asleep. Something has to wake me up the next morning, usually some loud mouthed bird.
hopefully you'll be able to figure out why you're continuing to move all night and not sleep. You may have the wrong hammock for you and just need a different brand. I know when I tested out the blackbird, my first thought was how roomy inside it was... my second thought was that I didn't get that warm, cradled, snug, cocoon feeling that comforts me like my Clark does. I was physically comfortable, I just wasn't mentally comfortable.

It varies for me based on a ton of variables. In the end I could sleep like a rock all night, or I might toss and turn all night. Or somewhere in between... no way to predict!

Depends. The worst night of sleep I had in a hammock was back in March when I camped out in a fierce rain and wind storm. It was a biggie, trees down everywhere, people were out of power for a week or more in some areas. It was partly the noise, and partly worrying that my tarp was going to fly away (my buddy had to get up a couple times to re-stake one end of his tarp- the only reason I didn't have to was because I put the biggest boulders I could carry on top of the stakes!) The net effect of the raging Housatonic river right next to us, and the crazy winds, was a whole lot of noise!
Generally though, if my insulation is adequate I'll sleep all night, maybe wake up once or twice just to roll over but right back out. Something I was never able to manage on the ground.
