Nice Temps in the teens too.
Looks very windy, but that camera is at the office across from the toll booth & is on a fairly open mountain side.
But about 1000' lower in elevation than our camp site I believe.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

12 days to go for those coming Friday.
There is still snow on the ground & it did snow just a bit last night Meaning we will have a "winter wonderland" to play in.

IF you just want to come for Saturday (bring food ), that is OK too. That will give you a chance to see the other winter set ups & meet the crazy people who camp in hammocks in the winter. Some of us even cook on the dreaded "You can't use those in WINTER! " Alcohol stoves. We can show you how to do that too.

    See you all there!!

Accuweather's extended forecast for Whitetop, VA shows Thursday getting above 40 next week. The lows look to be in the lower teens most of that weekend. Don't forget your sunscreen!

Sorry to hear that, but I certainly understand how other things can come before a trip like this. I certainly hope nothing prevents me from making this one. I've not camped since... Linville Gorge, spring of 2010 I believe

With warmer weather forecast for Thursday, I'm concerned about the possibility of rain, so will plan accordingly. Shug's amazing trip report referenced on another thread is such a goldmine of information that I thought I'd mention it here.

    Add two to the list

    Shane
    Mcgarry

Coming up Friday night. Looking forward to a summit attempt, or failing that, a pitcher at Dot's.

Looks like it's going to be fairly clear, very cold with a few flurries.
