    PM with cell # sent.

Long range weather forecast for the South Park Valley is 50-57F & 33-27F from Sat thru Wed. We will be 800-1000ft above them.
So maybe subtract 5 degrees from that.

Parking- There is a parking lots on both sides of the pass.
Park on the West side. My Silver VW SUV should be there.

Meals- For me, Since the hike to basecamp is only ~1 mile the plan now is to take real food.
Bacon eggs, pancakes. Packable lunchs for day hiking, steak & potatos baked in the fire.
The old boyscout dinner of ribeye, onions, carrots, sliced potatos wrapped in heavy foil works great.

There is no running water source in this area.
Unless you want to pack in your water bring a pot large enough to melt snow.
I will have an 1.5# axe and 2 24" saws.
There are tons of pine tree blow downs in the area so fire wood will be no problem.

Hope to have a big evening fire each night.
Which as you all know attracts snow snakes so bring you
    favorite snow-snake bit medicine.
If you can pack a light weight camp chair it will be well worth the weight penalty.

One final bump in case there is any local peeps wanting to get out for a great weekend in the Rockies.

Looks like the weather will be more spring like than winter. 40-50F highs.
Evening temps should be ~27-35F 3 season quilts will work perfect.

Should be great hiking and snowshoeing if you have them (not required) with enough clouds in the evening for awesome sun sets.

We have 4 confirmed for Sunday.
I'm leaving Sat for a solo at the overlook in the pictures posted and will meet everyone at the parking lot ~12 noon Sunday.
As a group we can select a group hang location. If you want to head up before noon Sunday. If you follow my map you will
walk right by my camp which is 50 foot from the firebreak road.

My truck decided that it didn't want to go past the I-70 junction. Hopefully someone can get a message to Bob to let him know.

    Hi MuseJr,
Farting Owl and I waited for you until ~1PM at the trail head. We suspected you had some kind of trouble.
I'm glad you made it back home safe. There will always be another time my friend.

Here are the picts from the trip.

Muse, you missed a great steak-dinner last night! Gotta get that F150 tuned up for the July hang -- Brainard Lake and the Indian Peaks are a great place to be in the summertime!

I had my steaks and wanted to cry because I cooked them on the grill...
It will be running by then or it will be gone. I have 2 trips a month scheduled for the next 4 months. Good thing I'm not the driver on all of them.
    * I will watch for the summer dates and try to make plans for that one too.
