considerable weight savings. Doesn't really matter unless you're trying to hit a certain weight mark for your base-weight. They all work, some easier for some than others. I personally use the whoopies but started with 550 chord, then went to slap straps then webbing, then whoopies. HYOH

I just put whoopies on my DN, and it took over 1/4# off the top. Absolutely worth it.

Not only will you save in weight but you will enjoy the convenience of dialing in the length of your suspension with whoopies every time. ENO straps limit this even with the new atlas straps. I also discarded the biners as soon as I got the hammock. The ones that come with the ENO have sharp edges and you are just asking for a tear in the material.

I just made two woopie slings and installed them on my ENO Traveler hammock. The woopie slings are lighter and adjustable. I use straps around the tree and a Marlin Spike know to attach the whoopie sling. Works great.

Also, depending on how new the Eno is, there was a discussion as to the quality of their new carabiners.

I've since replaced mine with whoopies.

    Whoopies on Eno

Also wondering if I should attach whoopie directly to hammock or put continues loop at bunched end if hammock and attach whoopie to that.

7/64 amsteel doubled looped inside of hammock and tied using double fisherman's knot. Depending on weight could triple the knot. I've added super nice "o" ring that I bought at REI. I've been using this and the whoopie/Marlin Toggle and Strap rig for about 3 years with no problems.
Nice pic. What do u have connected at the gathered end of the hammock connected to the "o" ring? From that I see your whoopie.

I modified mine. The whoopies are really easy to put in. One of the complaints I saw at a recent trip was the darn carabiners are just extra weight and something you only use for this one thing. The whoopies' adjustability is one of their best qualities. You can quickly hang the hammock and then center it, tighten it up, etc.
I use my Hennessy tree straps (which I already had, and my Hennessy Hex tarp. I had some amazon gift cards, so the hammock was basically free, I just had to pay for the whoopies and ridge line. I like a ridge line in my hammocks, I got used to the Hennessy. With the whoopies instead of the rope, I think it stuffs in the bag a little easier.

I have 7/64th amsteel double looped thru the gathered end of the hammock and then looped thru the "O" ring before being tied with a double fisherman's knot.

I have the fixed eyes of the whoopies larksheaded to the hammock itself, seems to work fine for me. I on'y went through the end channel once, not twice like the stock suspension.
