    Saturday noon shuttle?

Just wanted to let everybody know that I will be leaving the park Saturday afternoon, lunchish-after the tour, to go pick up my son and return mid afternoon. If anybody needs a ride or shuttle, let me know. I'll be heading down 270, but can hit Harper's Ferry, or possibly north points if needed. You might could squeeze in a quick NB hike back to Crampton Gap. Will have room for 3, or 2 on the return trip. Also if you need items picked up, come find me during the open house tour.

My husband and I are hiking in instead of driving. That really limits what we can bring for the pot luck. Would it be acceptable to donate $$?

Might I add that a pre-hike doesn't necessarily limit your ability to contribute a dish to the pre-hike. If you go and get your car, there are supermarkets nearby. Though I don't know what I'm gonna cook yet, I'm gonna bring a Coleman stove and cook something Saturday.

Either will be fine Nikki. Put you names on the sign up sheet if not already on it.

I know this is early. Much as I hate mosquitoes, I hate carrying my bugnet even more when I don't need it. Weather.com says the temps will be:

    Wed, Oct 17
    High 68°, Low 45°
    Partly Cloudy
    CHANCE OF RAIN:
    10%

    Thu Oct 18
    High 69°, Low 52°
    Mostly Sunny
    CHANCE OF RAIN:
    10%

    Fri Oct 19
    High 65°, Low 46°
    Showers
    CHANCE OF RAIN:
    40%

    Sat Oct 20
    High 62°, Low 43°
    Partly Cloudy
    CHANCE OF RAIN:
    20%

I think I'm leaving my bugnet at home. I took it to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon last week and felt absolutely stupid for lugging 7 ounces I never used.

What do y'all independent bugnetters think?

Spent the weekend on the Shenandoah River near of Front Royal. About 60 miles south of the hang site and with the exception of a daddy long leg on my face at 3 am it was bug free. I think you will be good without it.

We're hiking NOBO Friday afternoon and SOBO Sunday morning. We had relatives that were going to meet us with food and coolers on Saturday but they may be a no-show now.

I definitely think the Fall MAHHA is the largest. It's hard to beat 70+ hangers. Not so sure about the Spring MAHHA.
