Everyone warmed things up a bit with more rain, crap! See you guys there! I plan on being in the spot just NW of Byron lake.

The topo map shows a trail coming in from the south west that is not our trail .

Debating whether to haul my heavy 12x12 blue poly tarp in or just my typhoon...maybe I'll bring it into camp and if I don't use it, we can rig it up near the fire. I'll see how my sled load is. Anxious! Be there Friday morning.
Such tricky weather! I'm thinking about going polypro longjohns and rain pants instead of the snow pants. Looks like the snowshoes are out as well. Tonight will be a little tricky as low as 6° but will be warming up thru the night.
Seems like breaking trail , if you have to , the snow shoes might be necessary tonight .
Just walking around in the yard here snowshoes would be better on then off if there is no trail . I think Im gonna throw in an extra pair of wool dress pants . I don't have any rain pants anyway . You ever try that . Stop by salvation army or Goodwill and for 4 bucks get 100 per cent wool .

If you have the capacity that would be great . I've got a monster about 20 X14 but Im just going to leave it in the truck . My sled is already about 6 pounds over . Bringing an extra silnylon job about 10 X 8 for the group .

Good call on the topo map Joe...must be showing an old road. I'm familiar with most of this area but never made it to the west parking lot.
I'm taking the snowshoes but likely they'll stay in the car...we'll see.
I also appreciate the willingness of some of you guys bringing big tarps, but if you don't want to haul them I hard feelings! I would, but pretty much at capacity on my pack.
Hope my 20° UQ makes it down into single digits tonight Also, it just started snowing so the ride up could really suck if/when it changes to sleet or ice.
I'm about to have a Tourette's outbreak the way this week is going.
