awesome!! I actually have to stay away from there... otherwise I'll spend too much of my money. between kayaking and fishing tackle/gear, that place will strip my wallet down to nothin' in no time... thank goodness they don't sell hammocks

Yah, we'll have to put together a gathering in this area. I didn't realize there were others so close.

SO.... this fall we should definitely plan an outing. When i get back from the boundary waters I'll post up a thread to find some dates. Nothing like a scheduled outing to make sure you have your gear done

It's good that I don't fish or boat then...everything else there disappointed me.

We steer pretty clear of politics here on HF. Just an fyi.

I should probably start a new thread on this, but since I have some peoples attention....

Since Brandon is a busy boy, on top of taking time off, and I'd like to get a high end hammock *before* the fall...what are my runner up options to the WBBB Dual 1.7?

My requirement: Must be under $200 (I'm so broke I can't pay attention!)
Must be able to handle my big bottom (I'm about 250lb)
Lays flatter as I'm a side/stomach sleeper - never liked sleeping like a banana.
Quick Setup (I'd rather be lounging/cooking/photographing)
And can be adjusted/added on for 4 season use (bug netting for summer/insulate-able for winter)
And so good that I'm not feeling like I need to upgrade after a couple hangs.

I don't mind modding here and there...but I don't want to go full on dissecting and rebuilding an expensive hammock. At least not yet.

Well a big NC welcome to the forums. Fine looking beasts you have there. Find some time to sit in front of your PC with that pretty young lady and watch the Shug'ster "learn" ya a thing or two about Hammock Camping

All kidding aside ... most excellent set of videos to introduce you to hammock camping ... and give you a place to start ... learn ... ask more questions. Not to mention you'll have a lot of laughs!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

I have an ENO DoubleNest -- I'm about 230lb - 240lb -ish and it fits/holds me well (up to 400lbs) and I've been able to get comfortable pretty easily. When I get back (a week or so) I'd be happy to meet you somewhere to let you try it out. You can pick one up at REI for ~$70.

Otherwise, making one is actually pretty easy (alot easier than a tarp, so a good intro to DIY with fabric, if that's the direction you're headed) and can be done in the sub-$30 if you get the JoAnn fabric coupon.

Let me know if you want to try my ENO sometime.
