When we were on Rock Jock, I saw the faint trail for lost dog loop, and I noticed on the GPS there was a waypoint for ld pond. Is there really a pond in the middle of the loop?

BTW, the overlay map with the trail lines that Ken and others created and the waypoints/tracks are a fantastic resource. Rock Jock is well-defined off Conley, but knowing when we were coming up on points of interest was super handy.

Neat. I should have done the loop. Oh well, guess we'll have to go back.

Morning Sarge. As you come up Conley, getting pretty near the road, Rockjock turns off as a hard left uphill. There is a FS sign there saying Rockjock if some yahoo has not removed it. It's a 30 to 45 minute walk down to Hacker's depending on how much site seeing you do along the way. You'll go through the back of Fern Canyon, then up and around a little canyon. Hacker's is the south point of that canyon. The trail makes a right turn down into Bluejay there, but you continue straight for 30 or 40 feet out to Hacker's. The turn down into Bluejay is walking on small boulders. That's one way to recognise it.
Bluejay falls is at the bottom of that section and may have water flowing. It usually has at least a trickle in the driest of times.

Just a little more info. 4 or 5 hundred feet after you turn onto Rockjock it goes through a little camp just below the road. Rockjock goes south out the other side of that camp. A right turn in the camp will take you up to the road at the "Old Conley" parking area. This is about 1000 - 1200 feet south of the current Conley parking area. It's a handy spot to know about if Conley is overflowing, or you need a quick campsite near the road.

Very good to know. We may be getting there late on Friday so we may want to just camp near the road and then make the trip down on Saturday.
