Chinook Tarp???

I read a couple of posts on here from a few people who got them and had good things to say. I was wondering if anyone has changed their mind on them or are they still holding up?

I pulled the trigger on one already for $33 I COULDNT pass it up. I imagine I'm going to have to do some simple mods to it but overall I'm pumped, trying to tame my excitement in case it blows and I'm back to scouring the net for an affordable tarp...

So, whats everyone input on Chinook tarps?

I have not used or seen one of these in person but I've been thinking about getting one too. They look pretty nice. Big, lots of tie out points, and corners can be shut like doors. I read on an old thread that they are 1.82lbs, which seems heavy, but for the size I don't think silnylon would be ant, or much different.

I've used mine for one season. 14 nights out in the bush with it, a dozen nights in the back yard. Sure there are better tarps out there, but this one is a great deal for the money. It's survived some strong winds and a couple heavy t-storms and looks like new. I'd buy another.

That's a sharp lookin' setup there too! I'm glad to hear it's holding up, I remember people saying theywere initially impressed with theirs but I have tons of gear I loved the day I got it and hate now ::coughbivytentcough:: That looks sharp and I love the size, I'm a poundhog so 2lbs doesn't sound bad to me. Is that how much it weighs youthink, I saw there were some discrepencies between listed weights and shipping weights...

That's for the 12x10' version.

That's with about 30ft of 2mm spiderline ridgeline that I didn't feel like removing.

Is this the weight of the 12 x 9.6 or the 12 x 14?

Looks nice either way.

I find it plenty large enough for 3 season use. I can completely close one end, with the other end 80% closed. The grommets along the long side are offset. The larger version would be nice for winter camping.
