    Attaching tarp doors......question.

Hi all..... I'm not sure if this question belongs here or in the DIY section....

I have a HH hex tarp that I'd like close at one end (maybe both). I had toyed with the idea of Griz Beaks but thought I'd just attach doors to the tarp instead. My question is what is the correct way to do it. I'll attach a picture because my description would be clear as mud...

    Thanks....

I have no experience with this whatsoever, but I think I would choose option B. It seems like option B would put less stress on the attachment point.

    Attaching tarp doors......question.

You plan to sew them on by their two double-rolled hems?

Are there cat cuts on the hex tarp?
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

    Attaching tarp doors......question.

If there are cat cuts, you absolutely want to use option B, or you will be sewing convex to concave curves and you will be in the realm of advanced sewing.

B probably would have a neater appearance regardless of a cat cut or not.

    I vote B.

A zig zag stitch would work well here since it is naturally a stretch stitch and will be more forgiving.

Yes, now I see that. Got the old paper and scissors out and see sewing convex to concave would really be a nightmare.....

    Agree

    I vote B.
As did Crazytown3......I'm going with B. Many thanks.

    I will consider this.....Thanks

I'll be sure to post results when I'm finished with it. I still haven't decided if I need doors on both ends.....having a set on one end and having that end to windward should be all I would need I would think. If I feel like having the option to close off the other end, I still have the material to do it.
