    Hello from Branson, MO!

I just found this forum a few weeks ago and have decided that hammock camping is the way to go. I've done alot of tent camping from my motorcycle and LOVE it! However, the older I get, the more I hate crawling around on the ground. As soon as I sell some motorcycle pieces, I'm going to get a full hammock setup. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome Blackhawkgeo! You've definitely come to the right place. I'm not sure if you saw, but there is an Ozark Hang March 11-13 at Kyles Landing on the Buffalo river. That would be a good place to see a variety of setups and be able to ask a lot of questions.

Welcome to the forums! I was in "spitting distance" of you this past weekend. The weather was much too nice to stay indoors, so I did a quick backpacking trip to Hercules Glades.

A great wilderness area if you're so inclined.

Don't have a hammock yet. Bring the tent there will be several different hammocks at the Ozark hang that you can look and and lay in. That will be the best way for you to decide what you want.
    OH... welcome to the HF

Thank you everyone for the welcome! I don't know if I'll be able to make the Ozark hang for the full time. However, since I live only 40 minutes away from where it will be, I might be able to stop by for one of the days. I've got alot of questions!

Next time in Springfield I can show you what I have in the way of gear if interested (PM for contact info), I use what I have to moto camp on occasion. I would have liked to have done a bit of touch feely when I jumped in a few years ago. Welcome to this Site the amount of information that is churned out way beyond my ability to keep up with.

Come to Kyles any time you can. There will be fewer people around camp during the day, because of day hikes or floating. But there will be someone there all the time.
