Arrow Fourth Annual WB HF Nashville Winter Dinner - Saturday, February 27, 2010

Fourth Annual WhiteBlaze & Hammock Forums Nashville Winter Dinner
    Saturday, February 27, 2010

RSVPs are very helpful, so I can tell Ruby Tuesday how many to expect.

Here's the itinerary (you are welcome to any or all of the activities):

[EDIT: That Saturday, being the last one of the month, is REI Volunteer Day at Radnor, 8:00 til Noon. Do some trail maintenance with us and get a free t-shirt?]

2:00 (or thereabouts?) - a hike at Radnor Lake State Natural Area or wherever someone wants to lead one. Details to be announced if someone volunteers to lead this activity. Bearpaw, you listening? Anyone else?

5:00 - THE MAIN EVENT: Dinner at Ruby Tuesday next door to REI in Brentwood.

7:00 - Presentation at REI by Beth "Turtle2" Miller from Kentucky, on her hike of the AT.

Questions? Volunteers? Complaints? Anyone needing a place to stay? Anyone offering a place to stay for out-of-towners?

If you need to MapQuest a map or directions to the REI, here is the address (and phone number) (Ruby Tuesday is next door)--
    261 Franklin Road
    Brentwood, TN 37027
    (615) 376-4248

I'm looking forward to seeing whoever is able to attend. Nothing like getting together for good food and yakking with fellow AT hikers. Well, except hiking?!

Rain Man, the event sounds great. lol, I made it to the Brentwood REI when we were down in Nashville and met you all for pizza. I spent hours in that store and ended up with a Flash 65 pack that was on sale. Never did make it to Ruby Tuesdays!

Yes, I remember you and your hubby coming to the pizza outing, all the way from WV. Come on back down!

Or, just put together an event in your neck of the woods. If you build it, they will come.

Peanuts, probably several local folks would be happy to host you and your dogs. We have two dogs of our own, and two cats, but you are welcome to crash here if you like. You can camp in our backyard or have one of the spare bedrooms.

Dogs can not go on the trails at Radnor Lake State Natural Area, but can be walked on Otter Creek Road, which runs through the SNA next to the lake and is for pedestrians only (no vehicles).

    Exclamation Schedule Update

Looks like at least a couple dozen hikers, maybe more, from local and afar, are planning on being here for one or more of Saturday's activities. Here's a slightly revised schedule:

Fourth Annual WB & HF Nashville Winter Dinner
    Saturday, February 27, 2010

RSVPs are very helpful, so I can tell Ruby Tuesday how many to expect.

Here's the itinerary (you are welcome to any or all of the activities):

8:00-Noon - REI Volunteer Day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area. Anyone interested in volunteering for trail maintenance? Sometimes REI gives out nice t-shirts. Maybe go to lunch in Brentwood afterward?

1:30 (or thereabouts) - a hike at Radnor Lake SNA. Details to be finalized. Meet in parking lot at 1:30 between Ruby Tuesday and REI to carpool to the Visitors Center at the West Parking Lot at Radnor, off Granny White Pike.

5:00 - Dinner at Ruby Tuesday next door to REI in Brentwood. They are adding extra staff to accommodate us all.

6:30 - PowerPoint presentation at REI in the Community Room by Beth "Turtle2" Miller from Kentucky, on her hike of the AT.

Questions? Volunteers?

    Rain Man,

I think I will be there. Coming up from Savannah, GA to stay at my place in Giles County for a while. HOping to leave here on Wednesday, depending on family needs here. Will give you another heads-up then.
