looking for a sleeping bag cover

I'm really getting into minimal hiking when i go out by myself and occasionally i'll sleep on the ground (ahhhhhhhh, noooo! )

so i'm looking for a sleeping bag cover that would help keep my sleeping bag dry and clean...anyone have any?

    Hey Man,
Here's some bivy sacks at Cableas...

The newer, re-designed Cabelas XPG bivy (now with DryPlus) is supposed to better than the earlier model. Breathes better and 100% waterproof.

Other than that, Integral Designs has a bivy made out of eVent material. That would be really waterproof and breathable too. But OUCH, that price hurts...

    Just some thoughts.

    Early Winters Bag cover

Yeah, I have one. It's about 15-18 years old, a GoreTex bag cover made by a company called Early Winters. It was a very cool company that has long since gone out of business. It was only used once inside of a tent. Even though it is GoreTex, it should be placed on a ground cover and used with a tarp. Weighs very close to a pound. I paid a little over $100 for it way back then. If you're interested I'll let you have it for $40 including shipping.

If you have a Cabela's near you check the Bargain Cave regularly. I got it for $35. Only negative was it was a left hand zipper.

The On-line Bargain Cave has it for $59.88 – $64.88
