    Hanging on a deck

I'm screening in my deck and plan to do a significant amount of hanging out there. Can anyone recommend a way to attach hammock hanging points on a deck? I thought an eno or something like that would make an excellent nap-lax spot. I'm open to suggestions so let's hear those ideas.

I was gonna sink two 3ft lengths of 2in ID PVC in the ground on either side of my deck and slip lengths of steel pole into them and hang from those. Could take them out when not hanging. That wouldn't work for a screened in deck though. Prob gonna have to be some sort of stand.

I have an Adjustable Hammock Stand (AKA Vario Stand) on my back porch. Nothing to drill and can be moved as you rearrange. With whoopie slings, setup takes all of 20 seconds. It's also the only stand I've found that's high enough for an 11' hammock.

Somewhere on here is a design for a free standing hammock stand (i want to call it a turtle?) That would work.

"Screening in my deck" implies a roof and supporting structure/posts. Why not plan and build parts of this with adequate strength to hang from?

Sure it could..just use a hole saw. Drill oversized holes thru the deck in convienent locations. Sink the pipes thru the holes.
Done right, you could actually re-insert the wood plug and cover the hole when not hammocking or company comes over.

If you got some pics of the deck jharpphoto, it may help.

Here's a portable stand that can be moved when you have alot of guests over : http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=8758

Or as stated when adding the roof to your deck brace up some of the roof supports and put eye bolts in various locations to keep yourself in the shade or different points of view.

    I hope that helps
