    Double Ended Black Bishop Bag

I had a idea about this some time ago, but was too chicken to try it. I wound up doing it last week and took it with me to Hot Springs. I thought I'd show it off here a little for those who weren't in attendance. It's made from 1.9 ripstop that I had originally bought off ebay to make a hammock with. It wound up being coated, so that was a no-go. I was thinking about something to make with it and remembered my idea for a double ended Black Bishop bag. It's just a tube with drawstring channels on each and, some shock cord and cord locks. In retrospect, I should have made the drawstring channels wider. Threading the drawstring was a booger with the channels that narrow. Anyway, it's just big enough for my ENO DoubleNest and my Speer SnugFit UQ. I like the MARPAT camo to honor my Marine Brothers, past, present and future. If anyone has or sees any of it in 1.9 uncoated so that I can make a hammock from it, let me know. I'd be happy to purchase it from you. Oh yeah, don't forget the matching stake/strap bag.

I inspected it in person. Very nice.

Looks sweet! I use the same concept with the double ended SN bag by HH underpad came in. Works great, especially since I can't get the pad back in the bag. Holds my oversize fly really well, tho.

Looks great. That MARPAT camo would make a sweet looking hammock.

That's pretty sweet, Hooch. Do you stow gear in it when your hammock is set up?

Thanks for the kind words y'all. It's just a couple straight lines and corage. I'm working on plans now to make one a little different with mesh pockets on the outside for my straps.

Yeah it would! I'd love to get my grubby little fingers on some 1.9 (ish) that is uncoated and make a hammock out of it. Like I said, if anyone has some (Happy Camper) or know where to get some (Happy Camper) let me know. I'd be happy to buy it from you.

Nice bag and a good idea. If you have trouble threading cord, bungee or anything in a channel. attach the end of the bungee to a small bobby pin (?) then thread the pin through the channel pushing the pin through.

Good question. While we were in Hot Springs, I would put my keys, camera, etc in it and cinch up the end that the hammock/UQ was deployed from. Eventhough we didn't have any significant rain there, I'm pretty confident it would have kept my stuff pretty dry, especially since it was under the tarp. See attached thumbnails.
