Opie, my experience is that that would be strong. I do something similar through the end channel of my hammock, like so:

The loop is formed exactly as you show, above.

What length would you like them, tip to tip finished? Considering the 6" bury held on the slings.. Wanna try a 4" or 5" bury? I can do one of each.

No charge since youve offered up to be a test dummy.

If by "tip to tip", you mean circumference, 24" will work.

As to the bury, I'll go with your gut...I wonder what Frawg used?

Ok.. since you want it 24" Ill leave the buries at 6".

I Was thinking youd want it shorter.

24" is the circumference...the stretched length of the loop would then be 12"...put a Prussic or larkshead on both ends, and there's not a lot left.

I think if the spliced section is used for the Prussic, it's unlikely to slip.

Dave, the finished bury was 5" on each side of the lock. Note that I'm not putting all that much strain on the bury. It was just my way of making a loop to use in place of the ones I'd done previously using a Zeppelin bend.

OK... Im sending you 4 loops.

2 are in the configuration you requested.

1 is a little over 12", but with 4" buries.

The last is around 10" with 6" buries.
