Cool way to paint top of Tent/Tarp Stakes

How is the durability on the coating? This would be worth doing if it last more than a few seasons... if not, probably would just spray paint every year.

Put it this way. I still have jigs with this on it that I've beat up for several years. Coarse tent stakes want get beat like that so I'm guessing you want ever have to do it again. Thats really the big advantage to useing this. Its amazing how it sticks to metal.

Many things we use everyday are powder coated now. All of it that I have seen is very tough stuff. If you hammer the stakes in, I would expect the stake to cut through the coating where it is hit. I would expect the coating to last for many years if you are just pushing the stake into dirt.

UPDATE: This weekend while I was out I did some testing. Just using them as I normally do this stuff will last a long long time. I took one and beat the dog crap out of it on a big rock. The only places that chipped where the exact spot that was hitting the rock. Got home dipped it and good as new. So for durability, normal use its going to be GREAT!

BTW, the bright orange I used is 10 times brighter than it appears. NO WAY YOU WILL MISS THIS EVEN IN FALL LEAVES.

The problem with the Amazon "Reds Gear" listings is the color. They all show a photo of yellow, but...one doesn't have a description, one lists all the colors but no ability to choose and one has a photo of a different brand in yellow but the description says blaze orange...

FWIW...I ended up ordering and received it today. The listing with "blaze orange" is, in fact, blaze orange.

Too bad it is not available in a bright robins-egg blue, but hot pink ought to stand out in the leaf litter pretty well.
