Help a newbie II (suggestions on underquilts)

I'm looking for direction on an underquilt purchase. I'm currently using a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater and I'm looking for bottom insulation. I'm not interested in winter camping, and I tend to sleep pretty warm.. I've found out that compressed insulation doesn't do much when it comes to a hammock..

I like the looks and features of the KAQ New River.. And I like the price.. I'd build one, but time is money, and I don't have a lot of spare time to mess with something that doesn't work.. The old saying, you get what you pay for is something I like and I don't have an issue paying for it if it'll work the first time out.

But, I'm new to this, so any and all suggestions are welcome, and I'll investigate from there to find what fits my duty.

I just bought a jar bridge here on HF and love it. We have an ENO dbl nest and a GTSB Pro and it works well on both. My next purchase will be the New River for sure. I don't mind the 3/4 length of the jar bridge, but would rather not have to fiddle with it so much. Seems I am always having to tweek it. The new river is larger so I am thinking that once it is dialed in, it will be more forgiving when you are moving around. Just my $.02

A man after my own thoughts.. I've been fighting with everything I've used so far.. This irritates me, and I'm also afraid of tearing something. I just want to be able to get in, and get out without fighting 15 minutes to get situated. And if I have to get up for a nature call at 4am, I want to be able to get out, do what needs to be done, and get back in and back to sleep.

The only issue is will the New River work with permanently mounted bug screen?? I've emailed Arrowhead for an answer..

I have a new river 3 season and it is awesome. I have not had any trouble staying warm with it. I do not think you will regret purchasing one.

Is this for backpacking or car-camping? That will be the main difference between the prices of underquilts.

Neither.. My camping is 100% motorcycling.. The following are current bikes and a showing of my first hammock attempt..
I've been motorcycle tent camping since 1985. Weight isn't much of an issue, but space is.

Well, after swapping a few emails with Arrowhead, and watching a few videos, I've placed an order for a KAQ New River 3 season.. I seriously kicked around having it as just a 1 season to save a bit of space, but in reality, the hammock, straps, fly and UQ take up the same amount of space as my tent setups, and the tent's poles would restrict my use of them in some of the saddle bags.

I'm thinking that everything will fit in my dry bag, along with my down sleeping bag and fleece sleeping bag, that's normally used as a blanket anyway.

I thought about the 1 season because I camp mostly in 55 to 80 degree weather, but then again the first night I camped this year it was 33 that night and I was cold.. Why be cold in order to save a little space?? When it's warm, I won't need it or I'll open it up to let in some air, but still be protected from the passing breeze.. Last weekend it was 60 and I was still chilled with the fleece bag under me..

And, worst case scenario, if it doesn't work as I need, I can order something else and sell this to someone who can use it.
