Worked out so well ,i almost fell asleep right away
Its now my one to go hammock chair! Thx for the tip.
Good idea. If you're going to take extra stuff, you might as well get double duty out of it.
Since posting the pictures, I've been using a girth hitch on the loop end of my strap and lark's heading (or cow hitching) in the middle of the strap on the other end. I just back it up with a slippery half hitch. You're right; no knots to untie is better!
You're gonna get it, joker!
Awesome, Swehanger!!!! Looks great!!! (better than mine!) Why did you put holes in your sticks? Do you run your strap through the holes? If so, that's an alternative to the tenons I mentioned above. Keeps the strap from slipping. Good idea!
P.S. Don't let an apple hit you in the head while you're relaxing in your hammock seat!!!! Thanks for posting the pictures.

I can wrap one strap around the tree and pass it through the loop on the other end. Then make a marlin spike hitch and use the two ends of the hammock as the marlin spike. Easy peasy.
Also, use caution if you're going to sit UPHILL from the tree. The bracket may not have enough "purchase" to grab the ground and you'll go for a wild ride down to the tree. Don't ask me how I know this...
