Mad777, I'm glad you like the set up. It really is easy.

FLRider, thanks for posting that video, I've been wondering about the poncho as a beak. I was looking at a door kit, but I need some better rain gear anyway, so I could just kill two birds with the poncho. Thanks!

The stick is an idea, I hadn't thought of that (those biners are basically just toy keychains and weigh hardly nothing, so I'm not sure how much I would save with the dutch gear.) I need to get a scale.

Thanks for the comment on the boxer. That's Reggie, he's my other kid, hiking buddy, and a great listener .....And yes, that was a goat.

Some have already mentioned that you could save a little weight by using Dutch hooks instead of your `biner. I went a step further: instead of the locked brummel having a `biner or Dutch hook on it, I simply wrap it around the tree, pass a little loop of the line thru the brummel loop and insert a field stick! Even less pack weight!

So far, I've been using braided masons line since I didn't have any ZingIt on-hand, and it's worked perfectly well. No slippage at the field stick or prussics, and hey-- It's cheap to replace if needed!

BTW, beautiful Boxer! And was that a goat at 1:13? ha ha

Sounds like an amicable relationship--- the goat does all the talking, and the dog does all the listening

Not a problem. It's worth killing as many birds per stone as you think you can get away with. Let me know if you've got any questions!

    Hey Dave, Reggie says hi
I thought I sent you a set of Dutchclips

Ya, you did (I've got those on my treestraps!) I thought they were talking about dutch biners? Like I said though, these that I have can't weigh much more (if as much)

I think the Dutch hooks weigh .4grams pretty light .. Your biners work fine if the weight isn't a big difference or doesn't matter to you I would stay with your biners.....I just like to buy stuff lol
