Weight of a Insultex Under Quilt?

I a thinking about tackling a under quilt. But am wondering what kind of weight and how small a Insultex under quilt will get. Anyone have pictures of their Insultex underquilt? Thanks

Mine is the same size as listed on the DIYGear website and weighs 15oz including shock cords and small s-biners. It has no cover (raw insultex) on the side closest to the hammock and a 1.1 nylon cover on the bottom side. It probably rolls up the size of a 2L soda bottle. Please excuse the poor cellphone pics

Would that pack down further in a stuff sack?

Mine is made identical to cwford's and rolls / weighs essentially the same. Insultex compresses poorly if at all. Probably will not compress enough to be worth the cost of the compression sack.

I tend not to roll mine up - I usually just stuff it in the bottom of my pack. It feels like it take less room that way. In all I'm pretty happy with it. It was easy to make and pretty inexpensive IIRC. My son or I use it regularly for temps from 50-70.

With a good (i.e. zero degree) sleeping bag or top quilt, it really is. It may not pack as small as down, climashield or primaloft, but it works and is light... and if you sew things right (does take some careful math/planning) you will never have a cold spot.

So what are most of you all spending on this type of quilt. I'm looking at either making one or buying a down version. Money is tight so if this is way cheaper it will probably work for me. My estimates are around $50 for total construction cost.

I would estimate 52-60 depending on the fabric choices -- including shipping
