Lol yeah we do have some beautiful spots and when it's a nice weather everything looks so much better.

Beautiful! Spent 3 R & R's in Scotland while stationed on subs. The first in Holy Loch and the last two in Faslane. Great country and fantastic people and in a total of 12 days only saw one that clear and sunny.

You were lucky you even got one day, ha. The West coast even wetter than where I am the East.

Thanks, yeah, I thought briefly about the TGO challenge, not sure how viable hanging every night would be though... I'll probably look into it more seriously when I get all my kit together properly. The scenery varies so much from place to place here, most of it is very nice though, generally much more rugged and less tree coverage farther North.

Thanks for posting the trip and photos. I've been looking for places to hike while in Edinburgh in May. Coming over to visit my daughter. I'll tour around the city for a bit but want to get out and wander the trails.

There is loads of touristy type things to do in and around the city. I would recommend climbing arthurs seat for a fantastic 360° view of edinburgh, not difficult a walk and can be easily done in an hour or so.

In terms of trails there is plenty in the pentland hills. The route we took on this trip was mainly for convenience because it is so close to my flat and I know it so well.
