    Toggle Re-call

If you purchsed a TRL from me, and the toggle on the main line is shorter than the toggles for the tarp, please send me a PM.

I have a repair kit made up to replace that toggle. I just cant remember at what point I made the switch in the shop....

    Here is the replacement pictorial

First you must remove the prusiks so you can remove the short toggle.....

Also... there are 2 ways you can make the toggle connection. 1 way there is a very minimal chance the toggle will slip out. The other is almost certain, but not 100%.

Slip the fixed eye on either side of the toggle from the backside.

    Opie, thank-you.

I have not bought these from you, but your honesty and concern for safety have impressed me and earned my respect.

    Thanks Rug.

I wasnt that concerned with it when the first issue came up... I sent out a replacement and thought it would be good. But then Shug mentioned the exact same problem....

So I figure its best to nip it now, then later.

    hey opie,

i recently bought a TRL from you, and I have a question: Why are the toggles for the tarp different anyway? the hole is drilled fairly close to the end of the toggle. why is that?

Thats so the toggles for the tarp attachment dont rotate. The short end will always face the tree or attachment point of the side its on. If they were in the middle of the toggle, it would need to be longer so as its pulled towards one end of the D ring, the other end doesnt come out.
