Tarp for BMBH?

For those of you that use one of the BMBH models, what tarp do you use?

My OES Maccat Deluxe doesn't quite give the coverage I think I'll need in wet weather. I am thinking I might spring for an 8.5' x 11' cuben fiber rectangle tarp from ZPacks, though the price tag does make me gulp.

I also did not think the MC Deluxe coverage was quite enough for the BMBH.

I use the JRB 10x11 rectangular tarp. It gets the job done pretty well as is. But if you sew or glue on some tarp pull outs- or use something like Grip Clips - and pull the tarp outward right at the spreader bars, you will be able to pitch more steeply without worrying about the bars hitting the tarp. In fact, I have even been able to close the ends like doors, still without bar/tarp contact.

Also, if you leave thr spreader bars out until you get into the hammock, you will have no worries about the bars puncturing the tarp while you are out hiking or whatever. Once you have put the bars on and got in, the hammock will sink, allowing you to have a steeper tarp pitch without the bars hitting the tarp.

I have a superfly and it provides good coverage over the bridge.

If your looking at Cuban, the AHE Hardrock might be a bit hefty; but **** she looks good over a bridge.

I use my BWWD 11 by 21 giving me 10.5 walls on each side. Plenty of coverage.

That thing's a monster! I'd bet a decent percentage of the places I've hung aren't even big enough to fit that tarp into.

My Maccat Deluxe is 13 oz and I think that's heavy. The Superfly is 19 oz, as is the JRB 11' x 10' tarp. I've got to find something lighter than that.

An 8.5' x 11' cuben fiber rectangle tarp from ZPacks is 7.2 oz, though unfortunately it's also $275. That would make my wallet quite a bit lighter as well!

I use an Etowah 10 x 12 silnylon.
its big but pitched in an aframe its easy to wrap all four corners into makeshift 'doors' for excellent weather protection. I usually pitch it with a 12' ridgeline - roomy, but if trees are too close together i pitch it with a 10' ridgeline and pray the rain will not blow sideways

I will be adding side pullouts soon. So far no problems because i use hiking poles on one side and the spreader bars are not sharp-edged, and I'm careful entering and exiting; however, side wall pullouts seem to be the best protection with an a-frame pitch and a BMBH. I will be using a Chinook 12' x 9'.6" tarp with my BMBH next week during the Great Hudson Valley Pedal (an organized bike ride). We will have somewhere between 600 and 900 riders there and maybe a couple of hangers. The ride will be 300 miles (Albany NY to NYC). This will be my first time on an extended trip with a hammock (6 days) so I will have to post something here on the forum when I get back. The reason for the Chinook was it is close to the size that JRB sells and it was within my budget. The tarp is probably a little heavy for gram weenies, but not a problem for me.
