OH YEAH BABY! Make them hammocks!
PSH, OH LAWD! A hammock without a tarp in Oregon is C-R-A-Z-Y!
SHEEEEEWT, nubbins McNubsauce doesn't stand a chance. To the pasture!
Thanks, but I still do not know how much I will need.
Is that for 1.1 silnylon?
So... basically that will make me buy 20x the amount I need for less than what I was going to pay... I see why you guys get sucked into DIY with 50 yard rolls . Do you happen to know if he has 1.1 silnylon listed? I am to uneducated to find it myself apparently.
I only said polypro because it would have saved me on shipping, but I think i'm using magna now. But yeah, Oregon has some mighty large trees .
40' between whoopies and ridge line per hammock .
Thanks for all the replies everyone. Once I get my sources actually squared away I think I am confident enough to make the plunge. I would love a link to 1.1 silnylon on magna fabrics still too.
Edit:
OH! also, after getting stung 7 times by bees in a forest of devil's club last weekend, I would love to make some light/strong enough for thorns knee high gaiters. Do any of y'all know of an adequate fabric? waterproof would be cool, but not really that worried. These will be more for bushwhacking.
Well its 1.4oz after coating. The fabric used is 1.1oz, with a 3 oz coating.
I was just asking since I haven't called yet. My 21 year old self finds it weird to have to actually interact with someone to buy stuff online .
I understand that. I was going off of the website I was going to buy from and they only had PolyPro. If I can I will find a good source for Poly.
On a different tack, since you aren't doing the sewing yourself so not really your diy, and since the logistics of determining yardage required, etc., why not just buy a few tablecloths from thetableclothsfactory.com. They are cheap, pre hemmed, come in a selection of colors, are strong, only need a wide hem at each end if you want, or no hem if you choose to just do a whipped end. This lets you only have to make the whoopies and sew loops on the straps, unless of course you but from Readystrap, who has them already made up. Just another way to get into the trees.
the last silnylon noahlamport ive pickd up was 1.9 seconds white.
it was thicker then the normal sil they have
4 hammocks huh, do yourself a favor and make one of PrisonerOfGravity's rolled hem guides and hemming up those hammocks will go a lot faster & smoother!
