    Upcoming Hangouts

So what are the currently scheduled dates for Hangouts in 2009 and where exactly are they located?

I'm scheduling out my vacation time for the year with my wife, and need to know when I can slip in another hang. The Mt. Rogers hang was just too much fun, and there were too many great people to not see again for a whole year.

    "soft adventure"

I say we plan one for this place

I am going to put something together in Alabama soon and will see if we have anyone interested. Good locations are in The Sipsey Wilderness or something on the Pinhoti.
Another option would be Pine Glen Campground in the Talledga National Forrest but I need to check with the rangers to see if they allow hammocks in the campground.

I say we schedule a backpacking trip. Something where we hike ~5 miles a day with something to do at each camp...fishing, an area to explore, even just a pond or a river to take pictures of.

x2 on Jeffs suggestion, even my bashed up lungs could handle 5 mile days. I fly fish maybe a geocaching hike with some fishing and backcountry cooking testing.

What time frame are you thinking? Spring, Summer...? I'm in depending on the time.

I am game for something in the Adirondacks, Catskills, Finger Lakes region, or Allegany NF.

I'm game for that - If my schedule allows it and babysitters willing. I can handle 5 miles a day, and I just started fly fishing last fall, and got a new rod and reel to try out. Stormcrow can cook the fish and do some housekeeping (setting up my hammock, etc....)

Cook the fish Haven't you heard of catch and release. I noticed your fly fishing hat at the hang but didn't get a chance to talk about fishing. Shenandoah National Park has lot's of fishing opportunities but C&R would be a must there with the wild trout streams.

Smithobx and Darby also fish I believe.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
