Great trip report.
Great trip report.

Great report!
So detailed and entertaining.
Good job, considering the stomach and that foot (ouch).
Awesome trip report!!!!!!!!! I've been thinking of doing this trail this year. I'm a pretty experience hiker who runs 6-7 miles 4 times a week. So would you think this would be doable for me in that same 5 day period? Don't worry I will not hold you down to your anwser, just trying to get some estimates. Thanks for the great post, I'll do the same on my next cool trip. Come on warmer weather!
The first time I did the trail I struggled a lot more, but still made it in 4 1/2 days. Funny thing is, at that time I was trail running 3-4 times a week, which I have not done in a long time due to knee trouble.
Most folks I met on the trail were going for 6-8 days, but most folks were carrying 40 lb packs. If you have a light pack, you should have no trouble! Go for it, and let me know if I can help in any way.
I do have what I consider a light pack. 19lbs base weight w/o food and water. Thats actually one reason I switched to hammocks. I plan to do the Art Leob Trail, and hopefully the Foothills will make it on my 2009 trip report list. I'm in the planning stages now and just trying to figure how much time needed.
Very nice TR. It looks nice to be able to do a snow free, long distance backpacking trip on a trail in March.
Bump it up! Good Trail Report!

I missed this one the first time around. What a great report. Sounds like a lot of fun! Great Photos too!

Yeah thanks for the bump, I also missed this report and appreciate hearing this report. I have hiked the portions of the tail along the Chattooga & the first part leaving Table Rock but never the whole thing. That is certainly a goal for me to make this trip in whole.
Schneiderlein, thanks for the report & the great picks!
